HINDU SWAYAMSEVAK SANGH (UK) CONDEMNS ATTACKS ON HINDU COMMUNITY

HINDU SWAYAMSEVAK SANGH (UK) CONDEMNS ATTACKS ON HINDU COMMUNITY

26th September, 2022

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK) strongly condemns the ongoing use of violence and verbal incitement and attacks on Hindu temples, individuals and their property in Leicester, Birmingham and other cities in recent days. These were fuelled by fake news and falsehoods on social media which were sadly also picked up and repeated by mainstream media as well. The police and other authorities have also confirmed that this was due to misleading information being circulated.

Such attacks are an assault on the British values of free speech, democracy and fairness and to try to paint Hindu views as anti any other religion is simply false.

HSS (UK) is against all forms of bigotry and extremism.

We call for peace and calm to prevail and for all communities to work together in the spirit of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam – the whole world is one family.

GLORIOUS ERA ENDS

GLORIOUS ERA ENDS WITH THE NATION IN GRIEF

9th September, 2022

The announcement by Buckingham Palace on Thursday (8th September 2022) of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was a great shock to the entire nation and to the world.

HSS (UK) together with the rest of the Hindu community deeply mourns the demise of Her Majesty The Queen. Her commitment to serve the nation touched the hearts of every citizen and immersed her into the very fabric of the United Kingdom.

Her life reflected the ethos of HSS (UK) such as Sanskaar (values of life), Sewa (selfless service) and Sanghathan (collective community spirit). Her sense of responsibility, duty, humility and service either for the nation or family was exemplary. She was a role model as the pillar of the Royal Family, but also that of the nation. It was this personality that endeared her to everyone whom she met. Her departure has left the nation with a deep sense of grief, but an incredible lasting legacy.

HSS (UK) conveys its heartfelt condolences and pays tribute to the great life of late Queen Elizabeth II. It requests all its members to join in the nation’s mourning and pay tribute at the next meeting of its 100+ branches across the country.
