HSS (UK) is a national charity founded in 1966 which operates over 115 activity centres across the UK, offering structured weekly programmes for the whole family. Through sports, yoga, Hindu teachings, and skills development, HSS (UK) fosters the core Hindu values of Sanskaar (virtuous actions), Sewa (selfless service), and Sangathan (community spirit), aiming to nurture global citizens who actively contribute to society through collective community engagement and positive action.
Sanskaar is the process by which positive qualities are inculcated, developed and enhanced.
Sewa is simply defined as the concept of 'selfless service performed for the benefit of humanity and the world without any expectation of reciprocation, monetary benefits, or awards’.
The Hindu Community has evolved organically over millenia and is not a rigid group where one size must fit all. Bringing together this diverse community of faith systems, languages and traditions and realising their combine unity is Sangathan.
